HOW YOU CAN HELP

Donate!

La Reserva is saving rain forests and planting trees for animal habitat and carbon sequestering with your help. In order for us to continue our valuable work to save the earth we need your donations to continue our efforts.

There are several different options for making a donation.

To receive a 100% U.S. income tax deduction and support specific projects that we have listed on the Global Giving website just click on the Pay Now button, which will carry you over to the Global Giving website and the La Reserva Forest Foundation projects listed there.

You may also make checks payable to the La Reserva Forest Foundation and send them to either of the contact addresses listed below. At this time, these donations are not tax deductible in the United States, but they really help us with our day to day work.

TOURS

We offer tours of the tropical rain forest here at La Reserva in the Tilaran Mountains overlooking Lake Arenal in Costa Rica. It is a delight to see tourists who come from all around the world become converts after only two hours with us in the forest listening, looking, smelling, and touching. Visitors are ecstatic upon return to headquarters. This response has shown us time and again, that we can make a difference. If you are traveling to Costa Rica and would like a walking tour of La Reserva's forest reserve, please make arrangements by phone or email. We offer two-and four-hour guided walks through the reserve along marked trails. Special arrangements can be made for night time tours.

VOLUNTEERING

In the United States, we operate in a virtual work environment and we need grant proposal writers and others who can assist in environmental educational materials and fundraising. In Costa Rica, we need volunteers for tree planting, seed and seedling collection, computer help, fundraising strategies, inspecting farms, and more.

Read stories and reports from our forest volunteers.

NURSERY

We operate a nursery of over 9,000 indigenous tree seedlings with plans to expand to 20,000 seedlings this year. We donate these trees to landowners in the area who wish to contract unused pastureland to us for forest regeneration. We also sell the trees to people who own small parcels and wish to encourage wildlife populations by creating mini forest corridors between lots. Your purchase of seedlings helps enable us to donate trees to those who can’t afford them and to landowners under contract to La Reserva. Call 8856-2977.

DONATIONS

At this time, we welcome financial sponsors and individual donations because this is how we accomplish our goals. Please contact us at info@lrff.org for more information.

Another option is to calculate your carbon footprint to sponsor the amount of hectares and trees you desire to become carbon negative. Calculate your carbon footprint to sponsor the amount of hectares/trees to become carbon negative.

When you walk across the fields with your mind pure and holy, then from all the stones, and all growing things and all animals, the sparks of their souls come out and cling to you and then they are purified and become a holy fire in you.
— Hasidic saying

What is man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, man would die from a great loneliness of the spirit. For whatever happens to the beasts, soon happens to man. All things are connected.
— Chief Seattle

The work an unknown good man has done is like a vein of water flowing hidden underground, secretly making the ground green.
— Thomas Carlyle

The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe, to match your nature with Nature.
— Joseph Campbell

Great indeed is the sublimity of the Creative, to which all beings owe their beginning and which permeates all heaven.
— I Ching
